Henry Reagan is a retired NYC Police Commissioner, the widower of Betty Reagan, and the father of Francis Reagan and Peter Reagan. Henry has four grandchildren: Daniel, Erin, Joseph and Jameson. Henry has four great-grandchildren: Joseph, Nicole, Jack, and Sean. Henry is the patriarch of the Reagan family.
Biography
Henry's childhood during the 1930's was difficult due to his father's alcoholism and inability to hold a job. Henry was a Marine in World War II and Korea. After serving in the Marines, Henry joined the NYPD in 1952. Like his grandson, Danny, Henry is socially conservative and hates the political correctness of modern law & order. His wife Betty died December 2, 2001.
Henry had a hip replacement before Pilot. Due to his hip replacement, he had difficulty getting up from chairs during the first three episodes.
In Officer Down, Henry had a "war on cholesterol" before giving up in a "tactical retreat". [1] In the same episode, Henry discussed the old days when he was Commissioner, and the different expectations people had. He noted even criminals didn't respect cop-killers.
Henry used to play handball and now likes to watch it. Henry taught Danny how to play as well. [2]

Notes & Trivia
- Len Cariou, separated in age from Tom Selleck by only six years, wears make-up and a dental prosthetic for his role as Henry.
- In season one, Henry wore a World Trade Center Commendation Citation Bar, however he no longer wears it.
- In The New Normal, Henry revealed he didn't attend college because his parents couldn't afford to send him (presumably, he enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and later applied to the NYPD).
